A quick (less spoiler-y) intro to Doctor Who for those who aren’t familiar with it:

The Doctor has a long history, but to sum it up, he is one of a humanoid alien race from the planet Gallifrey known as the Time Lords. The Time Lords were once an incredibly powerful race known for their time travel technology and their connection with the Time Vortex. This allowed them, if they saw fit, to travel through space and time. They could do as little as observe or as much as manipulate the universe, paradoxes, and alternate realities. Time Lords usually live incredibly long lives, easily thousands of years long, and possess the ability to regenerate when their body dies, giving them a new body and extending their years, or allowing them to live on after mortal wounds.

In his earlier years The Doctor traveled through time like most Time Lords, in a TARDIS space ship with a variety of companions. He was at times rebellious and broke rules the Time Lords had set out preventing interference with other races. He regenerated several times usually as a result of danger he had run into during his travels. In the later years of his eighth incarnation The Doctor would get involved in the Last Great Time War, a battle between the Time Lords and another alien race, The Daleks.

By his ninth incarnation, the Last Great Time War had ended but The Doctor was the sole survivor after he made a decision that stopped the war but destroyed Gallifrey and ended the Time Lord and Dalek races. This was how he became the last of the Time Lords, though the Daleks would find ways to return. His memories of battle would haunt him and his pain was often only soothed by the kindness of newly met friends and companions. By his tenth incarnation, The Doctor had an unmistakable feeling of responsibility for the safety of the human race, especially those who were his friends. Unfortunate events would separate him permanently from some of these friends or force him to leave them. Eventually the doctor regenerated again, now in his eleventh form, the canon point this application is for. His companions as of late include his best friend Amelia “Amy” Pond, Amy’s husband Rory, and occasionally the sassy River Song.

Personality:
Child-like and old, funny and sad, cruel and kind; The Doctor is all of these simultaneously.

From the moment one meets The Doctor they can tell there's something different about him. He's an odd fellow; very animated and enthusiastic, resembling a cartoon character, and always with something on his mind and something to say. He's outgoing and friendly to most but blunt. If you annoy him he'll tell you, if you impress him he'll cheer for you, if your nose is large he'll let you know. He's childlike and always curious, often asking questions, stopping to talk to strangers, and poking his nose in odd places. Having lived a life full of adventure for hundreds of years he has little interest in sitting around waiting. When one has a time machine there is no need to wait to get to the interesting part of life; The Doctor can be terribly impatient and will complain if he grows bored. "Is this how time normally passes?" He doesn't concern himself with being normal; to him there are bigger fish to fry than worrying about whether or not everyone likes him. When there are evil aliens trying to invade the Earth why focus on what others think of the hat he's wearing? In fact he has saved the world wearing a fez. When there are extraordinary phenomenon to witness throughout space and time, why stop for boring things like company policies and paperwork? Race car toys on the other hand might be worth taking a moment.

While many people know him for his nutty professor personality, many others meet The Doctor in difficult situations and see a very different side of him. The Doctor's adventures have included many hardships, carrying heavy circumstances. As enthusiastic as he is for adventure, The Doctor is an old soul weighed down by past tragedies and mistakes. Many times he has had the lives of others in his hands and had to choose who would live and who would die. In serious moments The Doctor is very stern and focused. He hates violence and prefers to outwit and trick his opponents rather than resort to force. As many times as he has been successful it does little to take away from the pain he feels over the times he has lost. Beloved family and friends have been lost right before his eyes, several in circumstances he believes he could have prevented. He has witnessed battle and genocide and played a large role in the Time War between the Time Lords and the Daleks. Long story short, Doctor used an ancient weapon to end the war, bringing about the destruction of the Daleks but also his own home planet and people in the process. He is still haunted by his actions that day, and rarely talks about the subject even to close friends. The Doctor has a lot of self-blame and self-hatred hidden inside of him and a quiet wish for redemption.

The Doctor is very protective of his loved ones and of the weak and kind. Earth is a surrogate home and the human race is breathtaking in his eyes. Threaten humanity or another peaceful planet and you will suffer The Doctor's wrath. Many enemies have been shooed away by The Doctor cleverly shutting down their plans and warning them not to return; no lives lost on either side. Enemies as ruthless as the Daleks however bring out the more extreme and harsh side of The Doctor's personality. He is dangerous when he is angry, and an enemy that taunts him over his failure to save a friend, or that reminds him of the Time War, will make him even angrier. In his worst moments, The Doctor has let his enemies die to pay for their crimes rather than show them mercy. He is also quick to self-sacrifice, either in the literal sense of throwing himself into the fire or in the mental sense of giving up his good conscious and harming another rather than letting someone else bear the weight of the decision. In moments like this it takes a friend to remind him of his better nature; that he is kind and he doesn't have to throw away his morals or play the part of a villain to succeed. The Doctor has saved countless lives and entire galaxies but he still struggles to forgive himself and see himself the way his friends do.

☆INTERSTELLAR
Genre Preferences: Classical, Rock, Indie (I’m pretty flexible really- I’d put more genres if I could. I’d say my dream genre is some sort of symphonic mix or alternative rock. So if someone is begging for electric or metal symphonic those are my people.)

Canon Music Skills: (Since they’ll better explain my choices.) The Doctor has picked up a mishmash of skills over his long lifetime, including a variety of music skills. Over the years The Doctor’s musical talents, while not the focus of the story, have been mentioned and displayed several times. Here’s a quick list:
-As a child The Doctor played music using a Gallifreyan device called a Perigosto stick
-While in school The Doctor was part of a band
-The First Doctor was fond of singing and proud of his ability to “charm the birds from the trees”
-The Doctor is shown singing opera in the shower twice
-To unlock a door The Fifth Doctor successfully played a tune on sheet music on the harp
-The Eleventh Doctor once convinced Frank Sinatra to sing a duet with him
-He played the triangle for a symphony recording
-He provided backup vocals for a hip hop song
-He momentarily was shown playing the piano
-He came close to conducting an orchestra, only for his companion to interrupt after the first few notes and convince him to return the wand to the actual conductor
-In the recent season 9 pilot, the Twelfth Doctor is shown playing electric guitar to a high standard

Choice Instrument:
I nominate him for a lead position in the band.
Vocalist (I wasn’t sure if this took up an instrument spot or not since you could sing and play at the same time.) Guitar/Electric Guitar, Piano/Keyboard, Violin (Or another string instrument. Cello?)

Rockstar Persona:
Ruairidh Smith, nicknamed Doctor by his childhood friends, has a genius level IQ. Since a young age his parents fostered his intelligence by providing him with classical music lessons which he took a liking to and excelled in. Doctor has been composing since a young age and began exploring other music genres outside of the classics as a teenager. He majored in music in college but dropped out after his parents conveniently tragically died in a car accident. He moved to Vista City and played gigs at bars until being discovered by the record company that produces for him and the band today.

Doctor is the type of musician who takes his role as an artist very seriously. He’s picky about the quality of performances and content, and dedicated to making the band’s performances enjoyable for the audience. He spends a lot of his free time experimenting with new musical concepts and mixes, trying to find inspiration for new types of music. Behind the scenes, one might find him banging on things to hear how it sounds or recording and remixing noises from the environment. While he’s less desperate for attention than other musicians, he will throw his entire heart into creating a mood or story if he feels it is needed. This usually happens during music videos and on stage using costumes, props, and metaphorical miming or dancing. Generally he stays away from truly disturbing displays though, preferring to give the audience the chance to figure out the riddles he leaves for them.

Doctor believes in celebrating life and enjoys spoiling strangers and fans with donations and unexpected parties. He loves dancing and crashing celebrations like birthdays and weddings where he often gives impromptu performances. As much as he enjoys a good party, he stays away from recreational drugs since he has had bad reactions to them in the past. (More like this programming is good for the managers since you really don’t want a Time Lord on psychoactive drugs.)

Ideal CR: I’d prefer that he have at least one friendly or tolerable bandmate since Doctor is bad at following instructions when his heart isn’t in it, and he is likely to dismiss the band and attempt to go in his own direction if he dislikes everyone else in it. He doesn’t have to get along with everyone though. Family is okay, just no love interests please.
