For those who know little about Doctor Who…
The Doctor has an incredibly long history, but to sum it up, he is one of a humanoid alien race from the planet Gallifrey known as the Time Lords. The Time Lords were once an incredibly powerful race known for their time travel technology and their connection with the Time Vortex. This allowed them, if they saw fit, to travel through space and time. They could do as little as observe or as much as manipulate the universe, paradoxes, and alternate realities. Time Lords usually live incredibly long lives, easily thousands of years long, and possess the ability to regenerate when their body dies, giving them a new body and extending their years or allowing them to live on after mortal wounds. (They can still be killed.)
In his earlier years The Doctor traveled through time like most Time Lords, in a TARDIS space ship with a variety of companions. He was at times rebellious and broke rules the Time Lords had set out preventing interference with the growth of other races. He regenerated several times usually as a result of danger he had run into during his travels. In later years of his eighth incarnation The Doctor would get involved in the Last Great Time War, a battle between the Time Lords and another alien race, The Daleks.
By his ninth incarnation, the Last Great Time War had ended but The Doctor was the sole survivor after he made a decision that stopped the war but destroyed Gallifrey and ended the Time Lord and Dalek races. This was how he became the last of the Time Lords, though the Daleks would find ways to return. The memories of battle would haunt him and his pain was often only soothed by the kindness of newly met friends and companions. By his tenth incarnation, The Doctor had an unmistakable feeling of responsibility for the safety of the human race, especially those who were his friends. Unfortunate events would separate him permanently from some of these friends or force him to leave them. Eventually the doctor regenerated again, now in his eleventh form, the canon point this application is for. His companions as of late include his best friend Amelia “Amy” Pond, Amy’s husband Rory, and occasionally the sassy River Song. It is in the midst of a visit with the Ponds that The Doctor suddenly finds himself in Ponyville.
Personality:
In his eleventh incarnation The Doctor is an enthusiastic and energetic character. He is filled with curiosity, easily distracted by things he finds interesting and “cool,” and often displays an eccentric sense of humor. When things aren’t so interesting though, he is prone to boredom. He lacks patience, constantly in need of something to do. He is used to a life of constant adventure and travel. He often tinkers with technology, at times for the sake of survival, at other times just for amusement. He enjoys celebrations, finds joy in some silliest little details of life, and has an appreciation for beauty and life forms of many shapes and sizes.
In many ways his enthusiastic nature might make him seem comparable to a child, though he is in reality a very old soul, something which becomes obvious in more serious situations. It isn’t uncommon for The Doctor to hide the sadness and regrets he has over events in his past behind a smile. While he gives off an aura of confidence, even bragging a little at times, he still has much insecurity. He does not think of himself very highly, and tells those who look up to him not to. He rarely talks about his past and when he does it is in vague detail. Reminders of his past, such as the presence of Daleks, can bring out the sadder, darker side of his personality. Threatening his friends or Earth and the human race can instantly bring out his anger. The Doctor’s passion applies also to his negative emotions. He can be ruthless and unforgiving, even dangerous when angry enough.
He enjoys the company of others and is far from shy. Those who get to know him tend to fall into one of two extremes- thinking very highly or very lowly of him. Either way, even his friends find him odd and confusing. The Doctor has a friendly nature and can be blunt when sharing his opinions. Even those he loves might be “lovingly insulted” at least once by his comments. It isn’t uncommon for him to think aloud, especially when he’s trying to solve a problem or unveiling a solution, but he can keep a secret when he needs to. At times he has withheld information and even tricked others to make sure plans are set into motion, danger is avoided, or simply to relieve the pain of others. This has caused his companions to become angered at times though the justification behind his trickery often gets revealed eventually. Any one who ends up traveling with him into dangerous situations often has to learn to trust him and get used to following him without knowing all that is really going on.
Strengths:
To the Mods more familiar with Doctor Who- do you think I originally capped The Doctor and his Sonic Screwdriver's abilities more than was actually needed? After the 2 years I've been in the RP I've seen other characters pull off some wild stunts and wonder in hindsight if I was too strict. An example list of abilities The Doctor has in canon. Potentially some of these could be added to his strengths section, for example.
-friendly and to some charming
-brave in the face of danger
-very knowledgeable about a wide variety of places, peoples, things, and events in the universe
-great with many types of technology
-speaks and reads a wide variety of languages (He speaks Baby, for example)
-has some medical training (not necessarily for treating ponies though)
- Natural Time Lord abilities (some have been weakened, generally explained by the fact he doesn't have his usual body)
• Regeneration energy- this makes it so he can survive mortal wounds and illnesses by regenerating and gaining a new body. This is unlikely to come into play within the RP but he has used his regeneration energy to heal his wounds and others’ wounds before. It is not something used lightly though, since it is comparable to his own life energy. Many other options would be considered before he uses it.
• Connection to the Time Vortex- this mental connection helps Time Lords to travel through time and comprehend it. It involves an awareness of the past, present, and possible futures. This connection will be foggy due to his pony form. His knowledge about the topic remains.
• Telepathy- used for communication. Can be used to share memories. It’s not the type of telepathy used as a weapon or for prying into other’s brains. Power level decreased so physical contact is needed to make it work. Easy to ignore or reject if the other participant doesn’t want to “hear” it.
Weaknesses:
-impatient
-eccentric, sometimes awkward, often obliviously
-leader not a follower- He is so used to being a leader and making decisions for himself he would have trouble not being in charge of what he does day to day. Not that he completely lacks respect for those in leadership positions. He gets along with leaders who will listen to his opinions and those he finds smart and easy to agree with. Otherwise he’s likely to rebel and break rules if he isn’t granted the amount of independence he desires.
-blunt
-stubborn
-extreme and brutal when very angry or very sad
-at times egotistical about his abilities at other times very self loathing
-distracting emotional triggers- the Time War, old enemies, the loss of former friends and companions
Special Belongings:
-Sonic Screwdriver (Mark VIII) A tool that uses sonic powers to do a variety of tasks. Most commonly it is used for scanning and unlocking/locking doors. Has other less often used components like the ability to function as a microphone. Fancier abilities such as its ability to perform medical tasks, or to modify and repair tech, don’t work in Equestria. The screwdriver is ineffective on wood.
-Psychic Paper A blank paper that will appear to others to have what the user wishes them to see on it. Used in the past as fake identification. Particularly smart and gifted individuals can see through the ruse. Can also pick up on incoming messages from those with the right psychic abilities. (Telepathic characters can probably send a message to it easily.)
Pony/Animal Type: unicorn with two hearts
Cutie Mark: A set of smiling clocks representing the past, present, and future.

SAMPLES
First Person:
[The Doctor finds the magic scroll fascinating and can’t help turning it over a few times to have a look at its properties. He scans it with his sonic screwdriver then proceeds to touch the corner of the scroll to his tongue to check if the taste is comparable to other papers. Finally settling his curiosity for the moment, he figures he better get on with recording a message.]
I must say I miss having fingers but it is remarkably easy to pick up things with these hooves. Is that a biological feature or some of the pony magic I keep hearing about? I imagine using tools would be very difficult for you ponies if you had hoofs like ponies on other planets.
Any way. Back to business. As you might have guessed by now I am not from around here. I’m not really a pony either. Or a unicorn as it appears I have become. I have come here to your world and undergone this transformation either by accident or the will of another person because I had no intention of quite literally crashing on your party earlier on.
If any of you are familiar with the method by which I was brought here please send a reply as soon as you can. And if any of you happen to spot a blue police box that would be mine. I’m The Doctor. Just The Doctor.
[With nothing more to say for the time, The Doctor concludes his recording and sends out the magic scroll.]
Third Person:
This was by far not the first time that The Doctor had woken up in an unexpected place. He was used to the dangers that came with his travels and that included getting dragged unconscious into strange places. It was the feeling of his arm when he moved to clutch his head that threw him off. His hand just didn’t feel quite right. His head felt heavy and his mind was still foggy. Trying to remember the most recent events, he realized very suddenly as he tried to sit up that it wasn’t just his hand that didn’t seem “right.”
The last he remembered he was in the Ponds’ living room. He had just begun to play a charming little game on one of their motion detecting earth video game counsels when everything had suddenly lit up.
“No!” he let out a worried gasp, looking down at his hands only to find they looked nothing like Time Lord hands at all. “Where are my hands?!” he wondered aloud. Had he perhaps regenerated? That would explain the light but who had heard of a Time Lord with this type of anatomy? And wouldn’t he have known his body was dying?
He shook his head as if to shake the idea out of it. “No,” he said to himself. “No. It couldn’t be- No. It couldn't be-” he repeated again, getting louder and smiling with every repetition. “Ha ha!” he laughed and grinned. The same familiar voice was coming from his mouth. That surely meant no regeneration.
He attempted to get to his feet and instantly wobbled and nearly fell over. Looking around, he realized he was being stared at by a large group of very colorful horses, all with very confused and surprised expressions.
“Oh, hello,” he greeted them warmly. Suddenly the hooves on his body made a lot more sense as well as the color of them. “Is there an Amy or Rory Pond around here by chance?”
