4th Walling
So Doctor Who exists in your character's world and they know The Doctor is the main character? Can they say anything about that?

If you look at our group's rules, you'll see the mods want 4th walling kept to a minimum and NO infomodding.

I'm okay with 4th walling as long as you keep it short and sweet so we can avoid letting things get really complicated. So yes, your character can say something like, "Hey you're from a tv show in my world." or fangasm if they like his character, etc. and The Doctor will react accordingly. But please don't have your character go overboard with it. Don't make them bring up the subject every single time they see him. I'd rather the relationship between The Doctor and your character be based on more than just the fact they know him from media in their world.

Most importantly, no using 4th walling in a way that leads to infomodding. Don't tell him his future. If the tv show exists in your character's world, pretend that nothing past his canon point has been released. Preknowledge about the basics of the character is generally okay. If your character wants to take him down, don't infomod his weaknesses- give all the other baddies an equal opportunity figuring that out.

Worse comes to worse, message me with any questions.

"Hacking" scrolls
If your character has an ability that would let them change or look at the contents of his magic scroll can they hack it?
Yes you're welcome to hack as long as your character definitely has the skill set to do it. (You'll probably need an ok from the mods to do this.) Please give me an OOC heads up if you're going to do this.

Preknowledge due to other RPs
Your character is an AU version with memories from another RP where they met another Doctor and/or other Doctor Who cast members?

Please let me know what your character knows about him or his fellow cast mates. It's okay if they're already friends/enemies- just please give me a heads up so I know what to expect or can make any needed requests to avoid trouble. Which incarnation of The Doctor are they familiar with?
Also, to avoid infomodding problems, please if possible consider any knowledge about his/his canonmates' future void. If The Doctor or a canonmate with a later canon point had some sort of big effect on your character's development then we can make arrangements. Otherwise zip those lips about "The Power of Three" and later episodes!

Romance
Ooh la la! Doctor you are one fine stallion~
I'm not expecting this to come up but you never know so to be safe... Yes your character can start having feelings for The Doctor. (This guy somehow manages to get a lot of admirers on the show.) At his canon point The Doctor is married, plus he tends to be awkward dealing with romantic advances, so don't expect it to be simple or even necessarily reciprocated. I do have two requests if we go down that road. Unless it is REALLY fitting for your character, let's avoid "stalker problems" and "my love is unrequited, my life is over, goodbye cruel world" plotlines.

Fellow Cast Member from a different Canon Point
I'm joining as another Doctor Who character but giving them a different canon point from The Doctor (The Power of Three).
First of all, wonderful to have a canonmate! Second, that's perfectly fine. Let me know when your character's canon point is. I'm sure some very interesting humor and drama can result from this since whoever is from the future will need to be careful what they reveal. "Spoilers." ;)

Injuring or Killing
It is a MLP RPG, but just in case things go South...
I'll allow accidents and attacking. If your intention is that you character will seriously hurt him in one foul swoop, talk to me first.

Generally let's stick to a policy where any thing more than a dramatic slap across the face requires a heads up and a fair chance for The Doctor to possibly shield himself or avoid the attack. This all applies to more subtle attacks like secret poison as well. Killing? Definitely requires a heads up, agreements and planning on both our ends, and will only happen within serious reason. If The Doctor receives a mortal blow, he'll start regenerating and that opens a whole new can of worms.

Psychic Paper
Psychic Paper is a special type of paper that will show what the user wants it to show- it has been used in the past often as fake ID papers. Most people can be fooled by it, but those with incredible minds have the potential to see through its illusions.

In addition to this, the paper has another use- it can pick up on incoming messages from afar. Usually only individuals with specific knowledge on how to do this or a natural ability to send out messages in their mind can pull it off. Your character might be able to.

If your character has psychic powers for example, especially telepathy, they can most likely send The Doctor messages this way. If you're not sure if your character would be capable, talk to me about it and I'll help you figure it out.

Sonic Screwdriver opening locks
The Doctor carries with him a Sonic Screwdriver, a device with a variety of features, including the ability to open locks. Is it okay for The Doctor to pick your locks?
This is a permission I'm asking the rest of you about. The Doctor isn't so rude that he'll come stomping into your place without a good reason or unlocking your diary for some entertaining reading material, but just to be safe I'm asking ahead if it would be alright for him to use the Sonic Screwdriver to force open locks that your character "owns."

Let me know if I'm missing any important topics. Ask as many questions as you need to.

He's free to open his locks, but give me a heads up first.

Not a problem. As a suggestion, you should mention something about maiming/killing either Wally or the Doctor. I see that on most permission posts, so it might be a good thing to have (Tails would never do of course, but better safe than sorry).

I doubt it will go all Grim-Dark, but you never know. Also, I just put up a permissions post for Tails. It's in his journal so it's easy to spot.

For now, I think I'll say take the breaking and entering thing on a case-by-case basis; I'm pretty open to things happening, just ask me first :)

As for the psychic paper, I have a question...we mentioned on my permissions post that Liz is from the "real" world, and she would know pretty well who the Doctor is. Would that affect her ability to be affected by the paper at all, since she knows what it is and that he's trying to make her see something else on it?

As for my other character Jack, once again ask before breaking into his place, but he's perfectly open to being tricked with the paper.

Oooooh, lemme see if I can cover all this in one go...okay!

1) Lockpicking (lock-sonicing?) is fine. Don't expect them to be super happy with it, and I would like a heads-up first, but yeah.

2) You already know Pollo knows the Eighth Doctor, I believe. They were rather good friends, as far as that goes. His fourth-wally memories were lost when he was reprogrammed, so he only knows what he's observed or been told, which is pretty much that the Doctor's from Gallifrey and he's awesome. xD He doesn't even know about regeneration, so he probably won't even exactly recognize that they're the same person at first.

3) Harvey here is from the other side of the fourth wall, too. He lives with a bunch of nerds, so he's aware of Doctor Who, but he's not a huge fan himself. I'd say he's probably seen bits and pieces of nuWho, but doesn't really follow it. He's really more circumspect than to tell people they're fictional where he comes from, so at most he might just make mention of basic things like knowing he's a time-traveler who saves people or whatever. Probably only if it comes up, though.

4) I ALMOST FORGOT. Pinkie Pie very briefly met the Second Doctor at iJAG. Being Pinkie Pie, she still remembers him and considers him a friend, but he wasn't around long enough for her to know all that much about him.

First thing's first: I believe Trixie's cart has wooden locks on it, so The Doctor might not be able to open it. But if you think the lock on the cart isn't wooden, please let me know.

The next thing is that I would think Trixie would be immune to Psychic Paper. She's a storyteller with an incredibly creative mind, so she might be incredible enough to be immune.

Bertie's a simple and gullible soul, so the psychic paper should work on him just fine.

He's never had much cause to lock things up as he's an open fellow when it comes to most things, but the Doctor is welcome to pick any locks that belong to Bertie.
